Animal Licks

In Australia, our ancient soils are depleted of vital minerals and trace elements.

Combined with extremes of weather and temperatures conditions,  Australian pastures in most locations, do not satisfy the nutritional needs of livestock.

Animals, like humans, need a balanced nutritional diet to enhance vitality, performance and productivity.

As a supplement, mineralised Himalayan Salt is Nature's perfect balance of 84 minerals and trace elements beneficial not only to livestock, but to our soils, and to the food and fibre we produce.

Salts of the Himalayas only supplies premium grade, pure, crystalised mineral salts. All our products are HACCP certified - so regardless of product, it's  fit for human consumption.

Our animal licks, in lump or block form, are durable and weather-resisent for the paddocks. Just place the lumps in containers with good drainage. There is no need to place under cover, because with no urea to worry about, the salt licks are ideal for multi-species grazing.

Trust your animals' instincts!  They consume Himalayan Salt as needed, especially during times when the protein level in the pasture is low or when gestating.

Our Himalayan Salt is chemical free;  contains no microplastics, nor contaminants. With no sweeteners like molasses, livestock won't gorge on this product.

Himalayan Salt contains less sodium than other salt forms (25-50% less), and while it encourages water intake, Himalayan Salt assists animals to regulate their body temperature, adapting better to heat and cold conditions.

You will notice a difference - calmer stock with overall shinier coats or soft to handle fibre. Animals tend not to overgraze because they are trying to satisfy their nutritional needs. Some livestock producers report improved birthing percentages. Higher stock density within your grazing plan is another potential benefit.

And, at a fraction of the cost of commercial animal licks, you are making a financially sound decision when purchasing our Himalayan Salt products.

Some livestock managers may prefer Himalayan Salt as fine ground salt for feed mixes or teas.  Please enquire.
